Samaritan Biologics Intern Profile: Nisha Kotta
Nisha interned with Samaritan Biologics during the summer of 2021. At the time, she was a junior at the University of Florida studying Biomedical Engineering. During her internship, Nisha worked on several projects including developing sales training modules, performing literature reviews, and attending meetings with distribution partners and a cadaver lab with clinicians in support of new product development. When asked about the value of her Samaritan internship experience, Nisha said:
“It provided me with the opportunity to practice and gain confidence in my technical writing, field literature analysis, and scientific communication skills. The Samaritan team made it a priority to make us interns feel like family, providing us with continuous support and guidance. It was never just about the deliverables I turned in -- my supervisors truly cared about helping me craft connections and exposing me to experiences I wouldn't have been able to have otherwise. I was given the incredible opportunity to speak with academics, leaders in industry, and even physicians about their lines of work to help me make a more educated decision about my future as a biomedical engineer. Everything I learned during my time at Samaritan has been invaluable to my professional development.”
Nisha is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at University of Florida. Her research interests include biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and autoimmune disease. Nisha’s professional goals include working in industry, conducting research and designing biomaterials and medical devices that will help improve peoples’ lives.
