Samaritan has recently secured wet lab space in Greenville, SC on the Patewood Memorial medical campus of Prisma Health Upstate within the Clemson University Biomedical Engineering Innovation Campus (CUBEInC). This lab will enable Samaritan to continue to develop and evaluate next generation, best-in-class human allograft, biomaterials and biologic products in collaboration with world-class clinicians and scientists.
Samaritan equipped the lab with multiple pieces of commercial sized processing equipment to test and validate different tissue processing techniques in industry standard scale. This allows for rapid assessment and development of intellectual property prior to tech transfer to contract manufacturers speeding the product development process. The 30,000 square foot CUBEInC facility located on the 4th floor of Building 200C is directly above the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas and Vascular Health Alliance. It was established to enable the development of high-impact medical technology and devices for disease management and assist in the transfer of these innovations from bench to bedside. This facility was also intended to serve as a launch pad for early stage life science companies that would add intellectual capital, economic growth and job creation in the Upstate of South Carolina. CUBEInc houses several Clemson Bioengineering research labs, a surgical training and innovation cadaver lab, as well as other biotechnology / medical device companies including Diaxamed, Zylo Therapeutics, TGenTech, and Precision Genetics.
As a result of CUBEInC’s innovative environment, focused research and development initiatives have a meaningful impact on improved healthcare delivery while creating new opportunities for the industry and investors through clinical interaction, research, product development and start-up life sciences companies. Samaritan is excited to be located in a building that combines Academics and Patient Care with hands on research and development with intentional sharing and collaboration of ideas and resources.
